Veterinary Schools - NAVLE
Students enrolled in an AVMA Council on Education (COE) accredited veterinary program must have an expected graduation date that falls within 10 months of the end of the NAVLE testing window for which they apply. If a candidate’s anticipated graduation date changes after an application has been submitted, the veterinary school should notify the ICVA directly of the new anticipated graduation date at schoolcontacts@icva.net so that the candidate’s eligibility and available options can be reviewed. Please note that NAVLE fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. To ensure fairness for all candidates and compliance with established deadlines, refunds, fee transfers, extensions, and testing window changes cannot be granted. If a candidate’s application is not approved, the candidate is deemed ineligible after approval, or the candidate does not take the examination during the approved testing window, a new application and full examination fee will be required for a future testing window. Please note, if the candidate does not test during the applicable testing window, it is not counted as one of the five NAVLE attempts for the purposes of the NAVLE retake policy. Thank you for sharing this information with your students. Your assistance helps candidates apply at the appropriate time, supports a smoother application process, and reduces the likelihood of avoidable eligibility issues.
