Nominations for the Communication Skills Assessment Committee are Open

The ICVA is putting out an open call for three (3) positions on the Communication Skills Assessment Committee (CSAC). These open positions are for professionals in veterinary medicine who have expertise in communication competencies and communication skills assessment methods.

The CSAC identifies areas where ICVA can best serve communication assessment needs across the veterinary educational continuum. Duties include activities such as identifying core communication competencies, recommending frameworks for identifying and/or building communication skills assessment methods, and advancing research, teaching, and assessments relevant to communication skills with veterinary education and practice.

Terms for committee members are either a two- or three-year term, based on needs of the CSAC as determined by the Chair, Dr. Cindy Adams, and ICVA committee staff. Members may serve up to three terms; terms do not have to be consecutive.

Veterinarians, associations, and academics (especially experts responsible for communication curricula including assessments) are welcome to share our CSAC’s open call announcement with individuals who may be interested in being considered for an open seat on the CSAC.

Nomination Form

Those who are interested can send their CV, nomination form, and a brief (150 word) letter of intent to the ICVA at commskillsassess@icva.net by no later than June 15, 2026.
